The concept of ministry, in its broadest sense, refers to the act of serving and providing compassionate support to individuals and communities. Unfortunately, this crucial aspect is often overlooked, leading to a significant gap in the assistance provided to those in need. When we fail to recognize the power of personal, hands-on ministry, particularly in addressing complex social issues, we risk leaving vulnerable populations—especially survivors of domestic violence—without the holistic care and support they desperately need.
While government programs and institutional policies certainly play an essential role, they often focus on the logistical and financial aspects of assistance. However, survivors of domestic violence require more than just resources—they need empathy, safety, and ongoing emotional support. When ministry is underdeveloped or marginalized, it prevents us from addressing the psychological, emotional, and relational factors that are critical in healing from abuse.
